Christ Episcopal Church has an active youth program for its youth, the future leaders of the church.
Vacation Bible School (VBS) is usually held in June and is a whole lot of fun; not only for the kids but the adult volunteers as well! The 2013 VBS centered on the study of Moses and included arts and crafts, games, videos, and Bible study. Participants all had a part in a presentation at the subsequent Sunday service.
Christ Episcopal Church sponsors “Summer Sizzlers,” a popular program that invites the children of the parish and the community at large, to explore their world. Recent sizzler trips have been to the Butterfly Garden at the Texas Discovery Garden, the Trinity River Audubon Center, the Nasher Sculpture Garden, and the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth. The last two trips were facilitated by traveling on trains and streetcars!
The children participate in all of the Diocese’s youth events, including the Bishop’s Ball, the Junior High and Senior High Retreats, and the Fall Youth Rally. Christ Episcopal Church has an active youth leader on the Diocese of Dallas Youth Commission (DDYC).
It is the wish of the parish that all who wish to attend summer camp may do so. Christ Episcopal Church sends lots of children to All-Saints Camp, located on the beautiful shores of Lake Texoma. It is always an unforgettable experience for those who attend.
Please contact our fabulous Youth Director, Rene Schmidt (he is the one playing the organ) for more information.
